Parental Support

Being a parent is not an easy role to fulfil. Parenting is something we are not adequately prepared for no matter how educated, wealthy, prepared we may be because it requires more than skills but instinct and support of family. In a country like South Africa being a parent can mean more that caring for your biological children and it can also mean doing that alone with limited support due to various reasons like death, separation, divorce, etc. Parental support is for both parents in marriage and those living in as single parents, foster parents and adoptive parents who need additional support as primary caregivers of children in their care.

This is why we offer therapeutic support and positive parenting skills to parents from all spheres of life. The counselling provided also allows the parent to talk about their hopes and fears about being a parent. We also look for services that can support parents within their community so that they would not feel overwhelmed or overburdened. Supporting parents can help them take better care of their children.
